Posted by Elester (Houston) on 09/14/2006

I take pure baking soda in apple cider vingar, but the sodium is very high. one eight of a teaspoon has 616MG. I have have chlosteral. Will the high sodium in this baking soda affect my chlosteral? If possible, please send me an email as soon as possible. Apple cider vingar and baking soda are the two things that help my reflux.

Dear Elester: You can reduce your cholesterol by taking plenty of emulsifier rich foods, such as raw or semi cooked liquid yolk as it is rich in lecithin. Or take plenty of granulated lecithin, such as 1 tablespoon with every meal at least. The imbalances sodium created by baking soda can be lessened by adding a small amount of potassium citrate or potassium bicarbonate to the mix, such as 1/8 teaspoon of potassium citrate. Lithium citrate of only 5 mg/day will cause the body to rid of sodium and reduce any sodium retention.
