Dandruff with Hair Loss
Thank you so much Ted..But one thing i really cannot understand. When you say that 20 pills of cod liver oil for about a month, you mean 1 pill daily for 20 days or is it 20 pills daily??? Similarly Vitamin A(25,000 IU) daily??? ACV should me mix with borax to apply in hair? how much amount should be mixed for external applications? and is it for drinking too? How much borax should be added if I am using it internally?
The vitamin Ds are very small in the cod liver oil. If you don't feel confident, then just know that the healthy body produces about 10,000 i.u. - 20,000 i.u. of vitamin D in a sun. Most cod liver oil, read the labels, are between 50 i.u. to 100 i.u. While a mother breast feding her babies needs at least 1500 i.u. of vitamin D per day to prevent a deficiency. If you know the conversion a 100 i.u. is equal to less than .1 milligram of vitamin D which is extremely small.
Here is a statement of using vitamin D for treating rickets:
source: www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ druginfo/natural/patient-vitamind.html
"Rickets: Rickets may be treated gradually over several months or in a single day's dose. Gradual dosing may be 125-250 micrograms (5000-10,000 IU) taken daily for two to three months, until recovery is well established and alkaline phosphatase blood concentration is close to normal limits. Single-day dosing may be 15,000 micrograms (600,000 IU) of vitamin D, taken by mouth divided into four to six doses. Intramuscular injection is also an alternative for single-day dosing. For resistant rickets, some authors suggest a higher dose of 12,000 to 500,000 IU per day."
The numbers look a lot, until you realize that the dose you are taking is below a micrograms (which is 1/1000th of a milligram). Most vitamin As sold in supermarkets are in fact between 20,000 to 25,000 i.u.s SO this is hardly an overdose.
