Facial Hair Growth

Posted by Sujatha on 02/21/2008

Hi Ted, There has been thick hair growing in my chin and in my neck region. There has been scar and black mark and is looking very ugly. Is there a way to get rid of the hair growth and stop the under growth of hair.

Thanks

The easiest way is to get permanent hair removal, using either electricity or light pulses that I am aware of. Those are slow and might be expensive in some places, but this will stop the hair growth permanently.

The other way is to use wax hair removal and shaving. Shaving deeply can often kill off the roots of the hair and may not grow back. I remember Lucille Ball shaved her eyebrow, but because the shaving was so deep, the eyebrow never grew back either. Certain supplements such as fenugeek and fennel taken internally might also reduce some general hair growth somewhat that relates to hirsutism. Soy seems to prevent both hair loss and hirsutism too.

In woman an ovary problems such as Polycystic ovary syndrome may also lead to this problem due to lowered estrogen. Hence, 2 tablespoon of lemon juice plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day may alkalize the body and allow the less calcification of ovaries may also help too. The fennel oil has some estrogenic qualities, which is why fennel or fennel oil is used and is taken internally. Such as 2-4 drops taken 3 times a day.

There may be other causes of hirsutism such as adrenal glands disorders, in which case magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B complex, especially B5 and B8 to be most helpful. Usually the dose for B complex is about 100 mg.
