Bonded Metal Retainer

Posted by P on 12/26/2007

Ted, I have read through all your posts on Earth Clinic! Your knowledge is wonderful! I have been using and helping others to use natural/alternative treatments for many years. I have used h202 (and ozone) in the past. I never knew not to use it with braces, as I read in one of your posts! I myself have a thin, bonded metal wire retainer, on the back of my front teeth. Would this be counter indicated for me as well with h202? What about metal amalgams (I do not have any..but others might, even though there is all the negative health issues already surrounding those) One other question. I have been using mega doses of vitamin c for years now, when I am feeling like I contracted an illness. It has almost always worked terrific, and even stopped the illness in its tracks many times. The exception would be a sinus infection or even bacterial throat infection. It either takes much longer, in which case I gave up, or just did not work. Why would I use h202...or which is better or do they both work? Does it in fact depend if the illness is viral or bacterial(and/or fungal)? Thank you

Would this be counter indicated for me as well with h202?

Such use is problematic, but there is a way around it. The H2O2 tend to degrade much faster in presence of a metal and make such use quite difficult. Toy rockets used H2O2 and they have a metal which causes the H2O2 to degrade which helps propulsion. But if the metal retainer is used, most of the H2O2 would be degraded or destroy by the metals. The metals would undoubtedly weaken the hydrogen peroxide that is used. To prevent problems with such use a lower concentration hydrogen peroxide is needed, such as 0.5% instead of the usual 1% so this would not destroy or harm the metals. The hydrogen peroxide are more stable as there is higher concentration of water, and it will react more with the intended target of the bacteria and has little effect on the metal. That's the only way I can get around the problems of excess metal in the mouth. If metal amalgams is indicated, a hydrogen peroxide can still be used, but at 1/2 of the concentration to prevent them from being reacted with the metal, which I found to be 0.5% concentration. A higher concentration and the hydrogen peroxide tend to be unstable and degrade much quicker. The concentration of 0.5% is a conservative one, but keep it below 1% is often best. Some mouthwash hydrogen peroxide preparation use about 1.5-2% concentration and this is too high which tends to cause burns on the tongue in some people, usually occurs near 2%, rather than 1.5%, and that also depends on how long the peroxide stays in the mouth. In generally you can't keep it longer than a minute, for concentration at 1% or above, but a lower amount less than 1% are rather problem free.

I have been using Vitamin C for years, usually against the cold, but what I found out was drinking several drops of 3% H2O2 in 1 glass of water with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, plus 50-100 mg of zinc acetate at the first sign of illness usually helps or at least reduce the severity of the illness.

A vitamin C can be taken later, or much before as a preventive. This works best because the body's antioxidant can be low well before an illness, and during the illness. This is why once the illness is struck, vitamin C effectiveness can work or cannot work in some cases. Usually a vitamin C works best as a preventive, such as 1000 mg of vitamin C sodium ascorbate twice or three times a week, to prevent the antioxidant levels to be low. This is better than taking vitamin C during the onset of an illness. The reason why H2O2 has to be taken FIRST, is that a virus, tends to grow very quick, quite often overwhelming the body's immune system within 2-3 hours, its achieves saturation, and for the next 48 hours, the virus inflames the entire body's glandular system, causing hormonal imbalance. The same is also true of the other water soluble vitamin, such as vitamin B complex, which I do take as a preventive but only once a week, or twice a week.

Baking soda is a bicarbonate that the body needs in proper amount and they too are water soluble and I can be depleted rather quickly, if poor diets, lack of sleep hits me.

Most of the illness were from too much sugar, too much fats (usually the bad fats!), acid forming foods, lack of water soluble vitamins and electrolytes. This nearly covers 80% of my sickness, the other one happens to be free metals, which is about the other 10%, the rest seems to be pseudoestrogens, and other toxic chemicals that enters the food chain.

Sinus and throat infections take about more than half of the patients, at least in one public hospitals, which they call respiratory illness. The best remedy is a sinus spray, I prepare with a 10 cc syrine (no needles!), 5% sea salt, a drop or two of 3% H2O2, and a small pinch of xylitol sprayed in my nostrils. It's not a perfect remedy but it works most of the time for me. At least I don't have any more sinus infections. The other tip that is quite helpful is for sinus infection is peppermint oil, as it deactivates certain virus. What I do is 2-4 drops of peppermint oil put into my mouth, I inhale through the mouth, and exhale through the nose. It simply just stops my sinus problem. Xylitol apparently is quite effective in reducing the symptoms and severity should they develop into a pneumonia as the condition spreads further too. What I did was add a tablespoon of xylitol and sea salt in one liter of water using my ultrasonic humidifier. One word of caution: it creates thick fog in the room, so don't overdo it. The other remedy against sinus is to dissolve the mucus, which I used 500 mg of N Acetyl Cysteine. Some manufactures add aspartame, and this has caused me to be diabetic and I was actually cured with taking sodium vanadate. In some cases of person with chronic sinusitus, I found their urinary sugar to be high, amazingly sometimes from drinking diet cola (aspartame) and never take zinc supplements. The breathing passages, especially the nose has high levels of L-Carnosine, so in event of a chronic sinus, in some cases, taking 1000 mg x 4 L-Carnosine may help. Certain other amino acids, such as 4000 mg L-Arginine and L-Glutamine is often needed too, to increase the level of immunity. L-Lysine amino acid is antiviral, but the dose is often 1000 mg x 4, is taken too. The future of alternative medicine is going to be more use of Amino acid for sure, since all healthy tissue cultures, needs a lot of electrolytes, a lot of amino acid, along with some vitamins, hormones, and minerals. The tissue culture experience taught me that natural medicine we used today frequently avoid the issue of amino acid, electrolytes and hormones, not just killing the virus, although quite important as they tend to overwhelm the system during infection. Usually its the hydrogen peroxide, ozone, zinc, magnesium, baking soda, arginine, glutamine, lysine, and other similar supplements that are helpful against these things, not just the vitamin C.

One very simple remedy for sinus infection is just to get an ozone generator. Some others such as ultrasonic humidifier with the added xylitol and sea salt to further help. I might sometimes also by a plastic syrine without the needles from a drug store as a nasal sprayer adding xylitol and some sea salt and a small drop of H2O2, in a 5cc or 10 cc syringe. Ultrasonic humidifier really clears my nose, but the trick is to add the sea salt, ideally its about 2-5%, too much and it won't work, as the temperature of the salted water is raised to high to reach boiling point and won't become a salt-xylitol fog. I don't know how well this works with H2O2 added, since the metal on the ultrasonics tend to degrade them, although not completely and some do get into the atmosphere. It's just a precaution that the severity of illness won't go into a full blown pneumonia. A recent deadly adenovirus 14 common cold, has so far killed over 100 children in U.S. which did develop into a pneumonia, after a sinus and breathing problems too.

Dear Sir, I have been taking 3000 IU Vitamin C twice per day. I am wondering what your thoughts are on the dosage, I have been taking Vit C for years and a two years ago increased it to 6000 per day. I enjoyed reading the comments and your response.

Thanks
