Topical Application
Dear Ted: I need your help and expertise. I wrote to earth clinic back in November, 2006 I used your ACV and peroxide remedy since July, 2006 and when I wrote in November, it really seemed my toe was in good shape. Well, I cut down on using the acv remedy and overnight this past May, 2007, almost my entire toenail was covered with the funky color that means "fungus". I actually thought I bruised the toenail at first because it appeared so suddenly. But when I felt a small pain in the toenail I knew it was the fungus for sure. I've went back to doing Clorox a couple times and have been using the ACV & peroxide religiously; some of the bad color is gone and i have trimmed some of the nail off, but the toenail looks so much worse then it did the first time around. You can see right away that the toenail has fungus. Last summer, when I started this treatment, even though I had fungus, the nail wasn't thickened and totally discolored (that weird, greenish, yellow color) . The toenail is also slightly lifted on one side and I have even been using a toothbrush dipped in the solution and getting under the toenail to try and get rid of this.
Debra: The ACV and peroxide remedy is not effective if used as a topical application to get rid of the fungus. Please try the White Distilled vinegar plus the peroxide remedy instead.
The reason is that the organic components of the acv basically neutralizes whatever peroxide is there. Whenever a WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR (supermarket vinegar) is mixed with a 1% hydrogen peroxide, it becomes a very powerful peracetic acid which can get rid of the fungus easier. It appears you are need of a stronger formula, so it is quite possible to add a a 5% citric acid to the solution to increase in potency also.
