ACV and Baking Soda Dosage for Gerd

Posted by RCK (Toronto, Canada) on 04/02/2007

Hi Ted, I have GERD (LES value does not close properly) for a couple of years and have been on pariet. I have tried ACV BS for a couple of days and found it to be too acidic...I used 2 TBS of ACV 1/4 TS of Baking Soda. and 2 times a day (before meals). Should I increase the amount of BS to 1/2 teaspoon to fight the acid?? I wonder how this can help my GERD since the LES valve is loose? Thanks in advance! RCK from toronto canada

Dear RCK: I am sure Apple Cider Vinegar has different acidity pH levels, therefore in event that this is too acidic, just increase the baking soda portion to 1/2. If this is still a problem, then just take the baking soda alone for at least two weeks, either the 1/2 teaspoon baking soda twice a day, or 1/4 teaspoon baking soda twice a day. Most men seems to require larger dose than women.
