Gerd Symptoms with Normal Acid Readings
Hi Ted, Thank you for all that you do on this site. I found Earth Clinic while desperately seeking answers to my medical questions. I have had the typical GERD symptoms for almost a year... EVERY day---sore throat, difficulty swallowing, heartburn, stomach pain, chest pain after eating. I have taken everything from Prilosec to Nexium (what I am on now) and still no relief.
An Endoscopy revealed normal esophagus with mild stomach atrophy. I am on a pH monitor for 48 hours now, but even though I have GERD symptoms, my pH level is reading normal. (6-8.0 pH). I thought for sure these tests would be the end of it all, but after seeing my readings, I am not so sure that I have GERD at all.
Any ideas what might be happening to me? I have lost nearly 10% of my body weight from difficulty eating and I am now 95 pounds or less. I am VERY concerned. Thank you for your time.
Weight loss from loss of appetite is mostly a vitamin B deficiency, while the atrophy of the stomach is caused by a vitamin K2 m4, deficiency, and the K2 m4 is very hard to find. However we can get the B50 taken 3 times a day to help with your appetite, and digestive enzymes, of your choice, but should have high digestive enzymes with every meal. Start with that first and it may help threonine and lysine is taken especially if you have an unusual gray skin or dark skin in the past 2 to 3 years, that's lysine deficiency and combined with threonine leads to stomach atrophy, from my observations. L carnitine may help somewhat in terms of getting the energy up, especially the liver so it could work. Taking melatonin 10 mg to 20 mg at night could help lighten the heaviness of the stomach. The dose for threonine is 1000 mg x 2, lysine 1000 mg x 2, as a remedy for stomach atrophy, vitamin C also helps somewhat, but only if lysine and threonine is at least taken.
