Tried a lot of madicines allopthic(mainly PPI like nexium, but used only for shotterms like 1-2 month as i heard the long term use will cause hip fractures n other stuffs) , aurvedics and hmoeopathic, nothing gave any permanent solutions. when i read about the ACV's treatment for GERD, i m now intrested in trying this treatnment. Can you please tell me which brancd ACV should i take and how much time, how to take all the other information related to this ?

Looking for a positive response from you

Dear Dash:

Usually any brand of ACV will do, but the best brands are always the ones with organic materials and are cloudy which is considered a "mother solution" and therefore has more minerals. Ideally for a GERD condition, the apple cider vinegar and baking soda should be used, which is 2 tablespoon of apple cider plus 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 glass of water taken twice or three times a day.

The idea was originally based on my observation that GERD is a metabolic acidosis condition and also certain fungus like organism tend to grow in an acidic environment and are killed whenever alkalinity or at least a stable alkalinity exists. Too acid or too alkalinity seems to cause GERD and the bicarbonates, and even acetates (reaction between vinegar and baking soda) seems to cause the pH in the body to stabilized.

In general most brands of Apple cider is o.k. but I tend to stay away from ones that solution that are very clear and has less organic compounds and hence less mineral.

9/15/2008: Ted responds: "GERD is caused by a certain fungus-like organism that ferments and cause this condition. No single product is going to work because it can have many causes. For example, antacid's objective is to reduce acidity in the stomach and at that dose, it's not likely it is going to have much on GERD since the dose is small and some company that make antacids actually make the conditions much worse by adding aspartame, which causes metabolic acidosis as the free methanol degrades to formaldehyde in presences of body enzyme. The formaldehyde destroys certain neural system, such as glial cells and other functions, which leads the body into a metabolic acidosis, causing a GERD. Therefore some hydrocarbons can do that also, but few is as toxic as formaldehyde, aspartate, or aspartame. Supplements today now have aspartate too, which is an excitotoxin, which can trigger GERD just the same. Since if a body goes into metabolic acidosis, the opportunistic fungus like organism grows and ferments. You can do the same with sour foods, and sweet foods which ferments and hence all fruit juices should be avoided, but vitamin C sodium ascorbate is often taken in their place.

My objective is to increase alkalinity sufficiently to alkalize the entire body and raise the pH high enough to kill this parasitic organism. However, another cause of GERD like symptoms is a vitamin B complex deficiency, such as a B50 taken once a day or every other day also. If there is any other thing to reduce the GERD like symptoms, then it has got to be the Royal Jelly and the magnesium chloride. What the pharmacology of magnesium chloride does is simply to reduce muscle contractions that causes GERD and I have seen my own friend cured with that. And then when my own relative were non-responsive to magnesium and magnesium, she was responsive with Royal Jelly (one teaspoon fresh frozen one), after being

The point of my posting is to take care of the just basic GERD. There are advanced GERD conditions where B50, magnesium, colloidal silver and sufficient alkalnity to neutralize them. If anyone looks for a permanent cure of GERD, then chromium, seleinium, granulated lecithin, manganese, and chelated amino acid copper has also needed to be taken into consideration, which goes well beyond this so called "home remedy" and in that event you may need to consult a doctor or physicians who are familiar with medicinal effects of sodium borohydride, sodium tetraborate, and other antifungal substances such as clove, tea tree, lavender and other things. I am simply trying to make the remedies as easiest as I can possibly can without confusing the readers.

If I were to write an encyclopedia on GERD treatment alone will tie me up for weeks trying to cover every nuances of a GERD condition, and it is a time I have very little to spare as I have to look over other diseases at the same time.

In fact I found that some people became GERD after drinking milk and once stopping the milk and changes in diet to more variety of foods stopped that also. So things don't usually go in a straight line fasion. Why milk causes GERD is simple: the milk casein is an anti-nutrient when taken along with food and is used as antidote fore poisoning. This is why doctors don't allow people to drink milk along with their antibiotics. This includes yogurt also. So the fact is, drinking milk caused a deficiency which caused a GERD. One funny story I remember was a healthy Gorilla from the wild was taken to the zoo and within months of living in a zoo condition, the Gorilla developed GERD. Once stopping the milk the GERD disappeared.

If you are looking for a permanent and complete cure, I suggest you consult a physician. I am sure they are more than familiar than I am since they are trained physicians and accepted by the medical board.
