Dear Mr. TED (Parhatsathid Nabadalung): Hi I hope you are ok in good health.

Its really change my life it make my always worried, sad, it's really destroying my life I really getting lost of control.

I have taking ACV Honey with warm water, tell you frankly the first day I felt great 85% reflux disappear but next few days I start feeling acid in my Esophagus and in my back continuous so I am not sure I to continue or not.

I notice that my reflux is really connected to my mood, for the past three years I go Muslim pilgrim, tell frankly I was amazed, with each trip last 10 days I am eating chocolate, Pepsi, spicy food, oily food, and just eat and immediately to go sleep I never suffer reflux at all, I was amazed. Tell frankly my mind is totally away from stress. I have a book about Heartburn (GERD) I have done self-test for stress I found myself very stressful from the questions.

I have also constipation but now improve by drinking more water and veggies food.

I read about your ACV/baking soda formula but I am not sure what shall I do. And if you advice me to take baking soda which brand I should buy. I really appreciate your help and I really need a help.

An apple cider vinegar and honey would work for people with mild conditions, not long term sufferers. The bacteria or microbes tend to thrive in acidosis, and getting the body alkalized is more of the key to long term recovery. Hence for longer term, I would likely to be more conservative and use just pure baking soda first before anything else and take sufficient amount of baking soda to get urinary pH to about near 7.0. Usually most people can get that level with just 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day on an empty stomach. If those are done for at least two weeks, but preferably one month's period, I might consider doing 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day.

The microbes apparently which bought on the hiatal hernia is what is eating up the system. I suspect adding certain supplements can also resolve the problems too, such as some zinc and magnesium supplements, as 50 mg of zinc gluconate, at least once a week, magnesium citrate 250 mg/day for 5 days out a week, could also discourage their growth.

While baking soda will generally stabilize or reduce blood pressure, some very few might have problems from such use, in any event a more precise remedy appears to be 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium citrate in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. Of course, potassium are generally harder to find and the remedies must always add the sodium to maintain the critical sodium:potassium ratio the body requires. It doesn't need much potassium since the the extracellular fluids doesn't require large amounts anyway.

As to why GERD is reduced due to eating junk food, is that the stomach does not require digestive acid fluids to digest the chocolate and cola, but goes quickly to the intestines. Most foods would require the stomach acid, which if the stomach does not have sufficient bicarbonates to neutralize in the intestines, the stomach has to wait much longer, or digestion slows, and as a result, causes acid reflux due to fermentation of the stomach. It is this reason why a baking soda or apple cider vinegar and baking soda helps in adding the needed bicarbonates so that the intestines would have the sufficient amount necessary to neutralize the acid digested food. Certainly stress is one of them, but you forget bicarbonates in the body increases by appreciable amounts even BY NOT TAKING any supplements, including the baking soda or apple cider vinegar. This can happen, and it's might be stress, but I found that GERD can reduce if just deep breathing is practice for at least 30 minutes a day two times a day. It would seem based on reading your "bad diets" seems to be that shallow breathing might be the real cause here. It is easily proven to yourself to see whether in fact deep breathing can increase the urinary pH by just deep breathing and then measuring its increases. i have seen this happen quite often that GERD sufferers are shallow breathers, but to be sure I have to see them mention "stress" as a factor. Getting to sleep early and waking up early is another way to reduce GERD without the baking soda, but there's no avoiding them. The reason is simple: people work in their business and this is why baking soda helps, but in general it must be realized that if people have stress, they suddenly breathe shallow, and THIS MAKES IT WORSE. Therefore, whenever stress IS ENCOUNTERED, one easy way to increase alkalinity and hence reduce stress is to practice deep breathing to the lower part of the lungs using the stomach as a way of pushing the air in and out. This way GERD would be reduced enormously much like you noticing reduce GERD during your vacation, despite all the bad eating habits.
