Now the itching white patches come on the scalp when the hair grow i have to cut my hair weekly and apply antifungal cream to controll them and the circle continues. Any anti fungal lotion that you apply will make them disappear after 3 days but when the hair grow they come back. please may you help if i can cure them completely and what are they.

Ted, I have had a smelly musty odor on my scalp for years, I have read your posts but I don't understand percent ratios. Can you tell me in cup measurement. I tried. And I get frustrated because I think I'm not measuring it well. I bought milk of magnesia, xylitol. Borax. I don't understand. Can ammonium chloride cure my disease? Please help me. Please reply... Oh and thank you so much... Please tell me what I can take is the water and baking soda enough. And will ammonium chloride cure my scalp? I use a tea tree shampoo it helps but the odor returns.

Dear Tom:

A whitish patch is a fairly resistant fungus. My recent experiments over a couple of weeks, a good antifungal lotions that's applied is a 10% ammonium chloride solution of the head applied a couple of times a day. It should sting temporarily which should go away in minutes is my inidicator that it's a fungus. The solution can be made stronger with some milk of magnesia added, but only if there was a bacteria or pus present. A hydrogen peroxide solution is harder to use on the scalp as its effect in killing fungus isn't as long lasting as a ammonium chloride solution. In recent research, it was found that the free ammonia that kills the fungus most effectively but most commercial product concentrate on quaternary ammonium and other complicated chemicals, which still have the same results because a simple ammonium chloride can't be patented. I make my own shampoo where the thickening agents in a a shampoo is ammonium chloride as opposed to sodium chloride (salt). Ammonium chloride might be available in some drug stores as a white powder form. Borax mixed with ammonium chorides helps a bit in killing off the fungus, although it's going to take awhile, such as a month at least to kill the fungus. And if its still tehre after two weeks (itchy), then a milk of magnesia (8% magnesium hydroxide, no aluminum) and pure xylitol powder added to the solution at 5-10% should further help kill the rest of the bacteria and fungus that's present in the scalp. It also helps that 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day may also help circulation of ths scalp and baking soda also have some weak antifungal properties when it's taken internally. There are other more effective remedies than this, I would try the simplest first.

Hi Ted, I definitely have a fungus. I definitely have an itchy scalp, and I definitely am losing hair and is thinning. started mixing Selsun blue with tea tre oil, and taking biotin and other multi vitamins. My head isn't as itchy but the fungus is still there. Can I regrow my hair, and can I get rid of this dandruff/fungus?

Thanks

Sorry to add, I have been taking some vitamins and I changed my diet a bit, and using tea tree w selsun blue, switching to Apple Cider Vinegar sometimes and I think I see my hair thickening, but I can't think about regrowth until this fungus is gone. I actually have several patches of fungal dandruff spots. It's gotten better but it's still there. Please help me get rid of it. I will also try this saw palmetto out.

Purchase terrasil

Fungus in the head is very hard to get rid of. If you have pets get rid of them, if you have dust buildup in the home clean it thoroughly, if you have real plants in the home change to fake ones. My daughter had that fungus in her head and she was prescribed a medicine she took orally it cured it but she still gets periodic urges to pull out the hair and the follicle comes out thick and is almost juicy like or wet at the ends. Try this cream and then re-post if it worked from you.
