Hair Has Not Grown Back After Scalp Infection

Posted by Monica

My daughter has a scalp infection and it pulled a lot of her hair back. It has been four months now and has not grown back yet. The big lump has gone down and all of the puss drained out of it. Now I am trying to get her hair to grow back. She still has a little bit of infection in her head. I have some apple cider vinegar and hygrogen peroxide but I'm just not understanding the mixing part as far a 1:10 part and 10 parts is that measured off in tablespoons or teaspoons. Please let me know.

Dear Monica:
1:10 means Try 1 tablespoon of 3% H2o2 plus 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to 10 parts water. For serious scalp infections, I would suggest 1 tablespoon H2O2 plus 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar straight (do not dilute in water).

Your daughter has a severe scalp infection. If you can find tea tree oil, apply the tea tree oil to her scalp before sleep. Leave it on for the whole night. Most of the scalp infection should be gone in three days. Application period is about 3-7 days. The hair should begin growing back in about a month.

Have her eat partially boiled eggs regularly during infection. It contains sulfur compounds and will help restore the scalp conditions also. Eating horsetail will help hair grow faster as it contains silicon. Horsetail is available at your local health food store. If you can't find it try, silicic acid (a soluble form of silicon supplementation), this will also encourage hair and nail growth. You will notice faster hair growth within 2 weeks
