Scalp Odor After Hair Treatment

Posted by M (Anonymous) on 07/04/2012

Hello, I have had an issue with my scalp for a few days now. On Friday I had a Smoothing treatment applied to my hair. After processing for a few minute a reaction was noticed and the solution was immediately removed followed by 2 shampoos. on Sat my scalp was too sore to wash. On Sunday i washed my hair and immediately noticed a rancid odor as soon as my hair was wet. since then I have washed my hair several times with everything from my normal shampoo to clarifying shampoo, even dish detergent. However every time my scalp is wet it releases the odor, which my friend said was a mix of rotten eggs and dead mouse. it only smells when it is wet though. After I dry my hair the odor goes away. Do you have any idea what this could be?

There are some mycobacteria or fungus spores present in the scalp. I might try borax saturated solution to kill them, besides is a necessary mineral. that kills the fungus and molds. The other of my favorite remedy is a mixture of 1 teaspoon of ammonium chloride with 1 glass of water to use as hair wash. I do that to help smelly scalp too. Those two are the most effective I found but you can also use tannic acid 1 teaspoon per glass of water and use that to kill the fungus too. A cheaper, although less effective approach is to try a strong green tea or black tea and apply it to the hair, leave it on 5 to 10 minutes and rinse. Green tea and black tea contains some tannic acid also.

How do you use the Borax? Do you leave it in your hair for a certain amount of time or what? How long do you have to use it before the scalp fungus is gone? Thanks!
