Remedy Question for Dry and Itchy Scalp, Mass Hair Loss Reported

Posted by Stacy (California) on 12/04/2006

I need Ted's help - please. I'm not happy with any over the counter shampoos, ointments etc that I've tried. The one thing that does work for me a little is an oil with a steriod in it i got from the dermatologist. My scalp is very dry and itchy and if untreated for a day or 2 will be very crusty - it's like a thin cap covering most of my head, it feels very tight. If i use the doctors oil over night, the crust will be loose enough to clean/comb off of my head - but it will start to dry/come back in less than 24 hours. I don't like the thought of using the steroid for long term, that's why I have found you. I've tried ACV, it feels good for a few hours, but the scalp soon dries out. My scalp problem started out behind my ears and now has completely spead over my head. I'm also having mass hair loss also which really stresses me out. Thanks for any advice

The crusty scalp is due to essential oil deficiency, also. Take some evening primrose oil, vitamin E, vitamin A 25,000 IU, fish oil 250 mg and some flaxseed oil should help. Cod liver oil are also helpful.

If fungus is the issue of the crustiness, apply tea tree oil overnight. The problems should mostly be gone the next day. Your body is possibly acid: so just take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/2 glass of water and take it three times a day.

Avoid all white bread, and sweet drinks. Sodium ascorbate vitamin C 500 mg/day should further help alkalizing. Take manganese supplements only briefly about 1 week at 20 mg/day in form of manganese sulfate, from my own experience seems to work best. The hair loss should stop within a matter of days.

Hi Ted,

Many thanks for your advice which I'm going to try. However, a check on iherb and elsewhere seems to point to manganese (chelated) gluconate, etc...but not sulfate, being sold.

Can I take other forms of manganese in place of the 'sulfate' one?

Thanks.

Diana
