TED'S REMEDIES FOR ALS

Posted by A. on 04/05/2010

Hi Ted! I wrote to you March 9, about my father. He was diagnosed with the worst type of Lou Gerrigs in Sept 2009. Your last response was very helpful. The Lysine and L-Theronine worked EXACTLY as you said it would. We just completed the 48 hourly dosage and the virus is DEAD!

We are ready to move forward. I am writing for clarity on the following:
1. Maintenance dose for Lysine & L-Theronine. In your last communication you said, " maintenance dose, perhaps 1000 x 4 hourly is preferred. This is the minimum dose, not an optimum dose"

Did you mean 1000 of each every 4 hours? WHAT is the optimum maintenance dose?

2. Humeric Acid, what is your recommended dosage for healing using HA now that the adenovirus is dead? *clarify coma for me: do you mean unable to move? Or unconscious?

3. Methlene Blue 0.1% - Is this available in a natural form? I did research and found that I need a prescription for this and that this is a chemical. Please clarify for me which you suggest and the correct dosage, for how many days. * is Methlene Blue needed for ALS patients ONLY if they are unconscious? Or unable to move as well? I am interested in cellular respiration for my dad. He is conscious, and unable to move his fingers, wrists, arms, hands, and sit up with ease.

4. trimethylglycine and glycine. Are these to be given at the same time as the Humeric Acid? What's the suggested dosage for each and for how long

Finally, In our last communication you wrote, "The rebuilding of non motor neuron is done through the supplementation 4 day a week hydergine and piracetam, but this work only limited extent in case of ALS". For clarity, Hydergine & Piracetam are to be used to regenerate only NON motor neurons? What is the DAILY dosage for those 4 days/week?

Any input on regenerating new motor neurons? Anything that you can add would be appreciated.

I am grateful and thankful for your inputTed! My father loves the wisdom you bring to his healing. My family and I keep you in our hearts & prayers! Continued Success my friend!

I am happy to hear of your feedback concerning ALS. In response to your question as follows:

1. Maintenance dose for Lysine & L-Theronine. In your last communication you said,

" maintenance dose, perhaps 1000 x 4 hourly is preferred. This is the minimum dose, not an optimum dose"

Did you mean 1000 of each every 4 hours?

Yes. 1000 mg of lysine and threonine is taken, for example at 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m.. Lysine I believe is most important.

WHAT is the optimum maintenance dose?

Optimum maintenance dose appears closer to 8 times a day or 6 hourly dose. Your pick. This is the best I can work out at the moment. If threonine can't be found locally, lysine is critical.

2. Humeric Acid, what is your recommended dosage for healing using HA now that the adenovirus is dead?

Humic acid traps stray virus along the intestinal tract reducing the viral load. The dose is 1/8 teaspoon of humic acid in a liter of drinking water once to three times a day. Preferably once a day. Too much may cause constipation. If so, then it's 1/16 teaspoon of HA powder. I am currently exploring fulvic acid, but Humic acid I am certain it works in stabilizing the neural system.

*clarify coma for me: do you mean unable to move?
Or unconscious?

The patient of ALS I first met was unconscious and non responsive to light when flash light was shown on the eyes. So it was quite serious. The patient is o.k. now.

3. Methlene Blue 0.1%
Is this available in a natural form? I did research and found that I need a prescription for this and that this is a chemical. Please clarify for me which you suggest and the correct dosage, for how many days.

Methylene blue can be purchased from the Aquarium fish shops at 1% concentration and you can dilute it down to 0.1%.

* is Methlene Blue needed for ALS patients ONLY if they are unconscious? Or unable to move as well?

It is taken regularly to help neural recovery and not just coma/unconscious.

I am interested in cellular respiration for my dad. He is conscious, and unable to move his fingers, wrists, arms, hands, and sit up with ease.

DMSO is best for that. Dose is 30 drops 4 or 5 times a day.

4. trimethylglycine and glycine.
Are these to be given at the same time as the Humeric Acid?

Yes.

What's the suggested dosage for each and for how long

TMG is 1/4 teaspoon once a day. Glycine is about 1/2 teaspoon twice a day.

For clarity, Hydergine & Piracetam are to be used to regenerate only NON motor neurons? What is the DAILY dosage for those 4 days/week?

It helps non motor neuron damage as a result of coma.

Any input on regenerating new motor neurons?

Yes. After a lot of money spent, it turns out to be Centella Asiatica - asian pennyworth. The extract from must be taken twice a day, 1/2 teaspoon. Motor neuron may regenerate within 1-3 months and will regain in that short time partial movement, but I am optimistic further progress is possible.

Thank you again Ted. Please help me clarify 6 things for my dad, will you? My family and I want to be certain before we move forward.

1. Humic Acid: Liquid or Tablets - which is most effective? How PURE does it need to be?
*side effects: will cause stool to darken. <

2. Methelyne Blue 1% - How much water do I add to dilute it down to 0.1%? and HOW OFTEN does he take it?
*side effects: green urine, darkened cornea's. <

3. DMSO - How much water do I add to dilute? OR do I give to him without water?
Is it taken INTERNALLY? how often and how much?
OR EXTERNALLY? directly applied on the part of the body we want to stimulate into movement?

WHICH form works best: (A) 99.98% Pure (B) 90% Gel (C) 90% Solution
*any side effects to be aware of?

4. Glycine and TMG - are they okay to serve in powder form?
*any side effects to be aware of?

5. Cantella Asiatica - Does it need to be in a PURE EXTRACT form?If no, what form are you suggesting?
*any side effects to be aware of?

and finally,

6. WHICH will cause my dad to regain energy throughout this healing process of taking these supplements?

I will continue to keep you posted.

ps: My fathers doctor saw him today and is AMAZED by his increased health!

1. Humic Acid: Liquid or Tablets - which is most effective? How PURE does it need to be?
*side effects: will cause stool to darken.

I used powdered form of humic acid, which was supposedly intended for plant nursery. The powder is low dose between 1/16 to 1/8 in a liter of drinking water. The side effects, if given in excess is dry throat and constipation. Dark stool is not considered a side effect as it is only physical appearance of stool as it gets rid of the black humic acid.

2. Methylene Blue 1% - How much water do I add to dilute it down to 0.1%? and HOW OFTEN does he take it?
*side effects: green urine, darkened cornea's.

Methylene blue is diluted with 9 parts water and 1 part 1% methylene blue, is roughly 0.1%. The ones I did at home was powdered methylene blue which I diluted myself directly. Very large dose beyond the dose I mentioned here is green or blue urine. However, the doses I used is 2 drops 3 times a day, morning, noon, and late afternoon (or early evening). This is done to give energy, but in excess tends to cause lack of sleep. You can't withdraw methylene blue at all and can't be kept too far apart during sleep or they go back to coma again. Hence, if between doses of methylene blue during sleep goes beyond 8 hours, I consider it somewhat of risk that they can't wake up. To keep schedules tight, tube fed methylene blue or waking them (in event of long sleep) seems necessary.

3. DMSO - How much water do I add to dilute? OR do I give to him without water?
Is it taken INTERNALLY? how often and how much?
OR EXTERNALLY? directly applied on the part of the body we want to stimulate into movement?

Typically is low dose 10-20 drops per 200 cc water. Is taken internally. Usually 3 or 4 times a day. I believe the doses here is on the low side. It allows brain cells to access the needed oxygen.

WHICH form works best: (A) 99.98% Pure (B) 90% Gel (C) 90% Solution
*any side effects to be aware of?

The side effects is bad breath at large dose. In larger concentration of DMSO, is burning to the throat. And you get a sulfur/garlic smell.

4. Glycine and TMG - are they okay to serve in powder form?
*any side effects to be aware of?

TMG and Glycine. Too much glycine causes loose stool, but if you are obese, it tends to cause weight loss, by reducing blood sugar. Seems to work better then chromium, assuming a person don't have the deficiency of course. TMG, too much is sleepiness, but these two are often given before sleep anyway.

5. Cantella Asiatica. Does it need to be in a PURE EXTRACT form? If no, what form are you suggesting?
*any side effects to be aware of?

The ones I am using are fresh centella. Any extract may do also, but havent gotten a chance to try them, because lack of availability.

6. WHICH will cause my dad to regain energy throughout this healing process of taking these supplements?

A few things: methylene blue, b50, hydrochloric acid drops, and occasional vitamin E. If numbness in extremites, then you need an extract 400 mg of B1 thiamine mononitrate.

Dear Ted, How are you my friend? How are your surviving ALS patients healing? Want to begin by saying thank you in advance for the things you share for they are invaluable to folks like us that believe in healing, networking and sharing wisdom and life experiences with others.

I am pleased to say that my dad is healing well slowly. Meaning, in spite of a couple of brief setbacks that interrupted my fathers daily regimen, we are back on track and he has continued to benefit from the love, care and attention to details we as a family unit provide.

My question has to do with strengthening the muscles of his esophagus, diaphragm, and all other internal, involuntary muscles connected with breathing. His heart is extremely strong, lungs strong, and he continues to breathe on his own. No oxygen needed. He continues to be on no medications, have hi O2 stats (95+) and very clear mind/brain/cognitive activity. He is ALL there! Blood pressure normal, no diabetics, or heart disease. His extremities are slowly improving. Strong bone mass and density and healthy kidneys. His pedal pulse has gone from faint to extremely strong since we began his regimen and his lower body continues to get stronger every day. More energy he has. Sleeping well. Cellular respiration is a go! This is encouraging and inspiring.

Yet due to compromised respiratory challenges with controlled substances, it seems as if his lung muscles have deteriorated some. We are seeing that his symptoms have done 1 of 2 things: completely stopped, and/or not reversed themselves. His muscles just aren't being used as often, so weakening continues more so in the areas I have mentioned. We are seeing continued internal muscle weakness due to being bed bound. (7 day stay in the hospital) He is now starting to stiffen up in his shoulder joints and experiencing lots of pain there. Weak neck, unable to hold head up for more than an hour on a good day. Also, his cough not as strong as it was before then.

The new motor neurons seem to be regenerating but they don't 'know' what to do or where to go. We are interested natural ways of in increasing internal, and involuntary muscle growth and activity as well as helping him create and lay down new neural pathways for speaking, swallowing, fuller breathing, resulting in stronger inhales and exhales as well as restoring the ability to eat, chew, speak, and make audible noises. How do we help assist those new motor neurons in his brain to connect with the nervous system to send signals to his muscles to grow and regain strength again? Do you have any suggestions?

Dear A: It is common in long term of recovering ALS to supplement them with two things, to reverse atrophy of the muscle, either in the lungs, legs, or arms. For one glutamine 1000 mg four times a day. It takes about two weeks on the average to see him improve his strenght somewhat. The glutamine was missing from my original regimen, but it was necessary as I had to stop viral progression, lysine was an obivious supplement that was required, perhaps the only one.

Once the viral spread is contained, the glutamine was then added to the supplement to prevent detioration of the muscles and atrophy. There is a matter of debate whether the glutamine is needed initially or later, as glutamine sometimes can work against you - virus sometimes take advantage of that and convert them to fuel sources, so that needs more research on my part.

Certain amino acid are glucogenic, which means they can be converted to sugar, so the virus from ALS and cancer cells may feed on them, while the non sugar amino acid, often called ketogenic amino acid they can't feed on them, which lysine in particular is well known. There is actually only two amino acids known that are ketogenic, lysine and leucine. While the rest are both gluconenic and ketogenic, and some are exclusively glucogenic. Once the virus are tamed, then I believe glutamine is required, at 1000 mg between three to four times a day.

In general, most ALS patients do need all the essential amino acid at least, but it is a matter of debate which ones are needed the most. I am looking at histidine and tryptophan as the most obvious ones, but glutamine is for certain is required without doubt once the virus is under control (it takes on average about 2 days to get that under control, after taking between 8 to 16 hourly doses (prefer 16 hours), of 1000 mg lysine dose, some tiny amount of arginine is needed, only once a day just to protect against kidney issues in people with kidney problems, such as 100 mg to 500 mg, only after lysine has been administered on the 8th dose or 16th dose but that's given on the second day only.

Vitamin C, lysine, proline, and glycine are the amino acid required for the body to rebuild the damaged lung tissues, as this forms collagen. The vitamin C without the calcium is taken at 1000 mg two or three times a day, some proline 1000 twice or three times a day, and glycine 1000 four times a day, should be helpful.

ALS I have seen problems in coughing and sneezing due to lack of energy. Difficulty swallowing, esophagus, breathing are due to two things, muscle atrophy, and neural damage caused by the adenovirus. The only known supplements I know that help this is the glutamine and some vitamin E, and occasional vitamin D3, 5000 i.u. daily with plenty of magnesium chloride solution drops, about 10-20 drops four to five times a day on average. The magnesium offsets the excessive calcium caused by the vitamin D3. The vitamin D3 further prevents muscle atrophy, and glutamine tends to increase muscle mass, but also increases your immune system, but it is absolutely required that lysine supplements is always taken preferably 1000 mg three times a day at least. Lysine supplements should not contain any calcium as they tend to promote viral growth of the ALS.

I am currently looking into histidine, tryptophan, and camphor in killing off the remaining ALS virus (adenovirus), so that people don't have to take so much of the lysine, but in the meantime lysine has to be taken once a person is recovered.

I feel we are lucky that FDA never was successful in making amino acid illegal, as they have tried to do that several years ago, but this doesn't stop them and already Executive Order 13544, which is the control of the supplements has already been signed by President Obama. The FDA did once made Tryptophan illegal on the idea that it supports viral growth, but the truth is the patent application actually used tryptophan as an antiviral growth, but because they are expensive, and lack of availability here, the lysine was used. In human diets, due to cooked foods we are actually lacking in three major essential amino acid that I know of, that I think is required in my future remedies, which are lysine, because they tend to get destroyed due to glycation in cooking or not bioavailable due to crosslinking, so we ended up with inability to defend against the virus. The second is the tryptophan, which are actually non existent in quite a few people due to cooking also, but tryptophan may in theory kill off the virus completely if we have just enough T cells to prevent invasion. A lysine can get rid of most, but not completely killing off all of them, so tryptophan maybe required, but not in common foods, mostly in supplement form. The third amino acid is the histidine. The tryptophan and histidine I am currently looking at potential in treatment of killing the residual viruses, as well as cancer, but it is always the lysine as the main foundation of the ALS remedy.

As for glutamine, there is another amino acid that may help strenghten the muscles, such as alanine, but I believe alanine is problematic on several issues, one is that too much tend to cause high blood pressure.

It is most important that excitotoxin amino acid are avoided, or reduced, through the use of small amounts of humic and fulvic acid. For some reason I can't explain, these two, especially the humic acid tends to reduce excitotoxins in the body. If THERE IS LESS excitotoxins, the possibly of growing motor neurons are not hampered. The ALS patient may also take inhibitory amino acid, which is seen as neuroprotective. These include GABA (gamma amino benzoic acid), glycine, and taurine.

The ALS patient in Thailand here is doing well, and has improved status of stronger legs and muscles after supplementing daily with glutamine, at about 1000 mg twice to three times a day. Taurine, glycine and GABA that I just mentioned she already take. It is one omission I have left out from my last posting concerning lung issue. Lungs tend to dry out on a respirator, and yes, lung problems is an issue. The supplement I used to improve breathing to reduce resistance in breathing is the hyaluronic acid. It should be noted that vitamin D3 or D2 improves lung capacity by twice that amount when it is taken for about a week or so. While the hyaluronic acid helps reduce resistance in breathing. The dose and preparation, for me is a bit different from the supplements I used, I prepare 500 mg of hyaluronic acid powder in 500 cc of water, with roughly 9 grams of sea salt. It is taken at about 10 capfuls three or four times a day. This will lubricate the lungs, reduce lesions caused by drying of lungs. I think the hyaluronic acid was clearly missing from my first postings since it does not deal directly with ALS issues.
