Fungus Connection?

Posted by A on 07/26/2007

Hello Ted, I Have read many of your expert advice on Earth Clinic Website and I am grateful to have found someone like you that truly exist to help others in need. I have read some of your remedies and tried some of them which had made a slight improvement to my condition but I still feel that I need more specific treatment advice to help me achieve a much better result.

In the last few years I have been suffering from severe nail fungus which includes the skin as well (flaky and little reddish patches/rash) on my right foot only. I also been suffering from bad breath which has now reached a new unbearable level. I feel so embarrassed, my confidence has dropped rock bottom and it interferes with every possible aspect of my life even my love life. My partner has been wonderful and understanding so far but even that reached the limit. I feel lonely, hopeless and very depressed by these problems.

FOR THE FUNGUS - I have been trying your ACV & Hydrogen Peroxide cure for 2 months now. Every morning I soak my foot in ACV + Hydrogen Peroxide 50/50, I then rinse it and straight away soak it in Bleach + Water 1:4 for 1 min. After rinsing again I then apply Tee Tree + Vaseline 50/50 and cover it with a sock. When I return from work I wash my feet, dry it and let it air till the following morning when I treat it again. I use a disposable nail file once a week to file off the top layer of my nails. I really try not to miss any day of treatment but it did happen a few times. The situation has improved but still a LONG way to go. There are still dark patches on my nails but the smell has gone and they look better - less yellow. What can I do to see better & faster results?

FOR THE BAD BREATH - I have now (2 days ago) started taking baking soda on empty stomach once a day, straight in the morning when I wake up mixing 1/2 teaspoon with 1/2 cup of water. I also drink 1 tsp ACV in a glass of water twice throughout the day. In the evening before I go to bed, I rinse my mouth with diluting 3% hydrogen peroxide with water at 50/50. I then rinse it with water and brush my teeth as I normally do. May I just stress that I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle as much as I can. I have also visited my dentist which confirmed a very good oral hygiene. The bad breath has improved but I have this odd taste in my mouth that is a bit of a metal(?). Is it normal? how long do I need to use this remedy for?

According to what I have read on your website there is a connection between the two problems. I don't know whether I am using the right quantities for the cures. I don't know whether I need to wait until my body is properly alkalized to notice big changes in both. I feel a bit lost. I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP What can you specifically advise me to do whilst keeping healthy teeth? Your answer is my last resort as it is very hard to keep this routine when the the results has been a little noticeable. I still have hope. Looking forward to your reply and thank you in advance.

For the nail fungus, you can make it a bit faster if lugol's solution (dark purple iodine tincture was also applied). Maybe discoloring, but it is penetrating to the nails. Also DMSO 80% plus 20% iodine tincture, applied to the nails will kill the fungus faster.

As to your bad breath, something more effective can be done. The metal tastes is due to excess heavy metals. Oil pulling BETWEEN brushing the teeth, then that, the last thing to do is the 1% hydrogen peroxide mouthwash.

Quite often frequent bad breath can be due zinc and magnesium deficiency, in which case zinc gluconate 50 mg is taken once a week for only 3-4 weeks, plus some magnesium citrate supplements taken for only 5 days out of a week. For about a month.

It takes two weeks at least for the body to have sufficient amounts of bicarbonate. However baking soda is not nearly as effective as a lemon and baking soda in raising the alkalinity. In which case I would try one whole freshly squeezed lime which is approximately equal to 8 teaspoon of lime juice plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to 1/2 glass of water. Allow the fizz to proceed for 3-5 minutes and then I would take that twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime. It NECESSARY that NO fluoride toothpaste is used as it tends to worsen the condition in suppressing the body's IMMUNE SYSTEM. If excessive fluoride is the problem, then a small pinch of borax to drinking water will help remove that so that the glandular functions and immune system be restored. Most bromine, chlorine and fluorine are antagonistic against the iodine, allowing immune suppressing leading to bad breath, since you did mentioned you got good oral hygeine according to the dentist.

Quite often borax and baking soda are two important parts which are related since fungus causes nail fungus, but at the same time cause metallic taste from fungus, which leads to bad breath.

It takes a while for the bicarbonates to work however it is important to avoid calcium rich foods and supplements since they are antagonist to the remedy, especially the potatoes, fried foods and ice cream.
