Dear Sara: Get a hair mineral analysis to see what is causing the allergy to vitamin C. Quite often an allergy of any kind, even vitamin C is due to heavy metal toxicity buildup or a chemical toxin buildup. Coriander (chinese parsley) will remove the heavy metals and may restore his ability to take vitamin C, sodium ascorbate only. The issue seems heavy metal buildup and vitamin C toxicity is related to the acidosis condition, where urine pH is below 6, while an optimum urinary pH exists at about 7. Vitamin C is both a prooxidant and an antioxidant. It is the acidic body which cannot tolerate any more acidic vitamin C that might be one of the problem.

The reason why heavy metal toxicity is a possibility is that heavy metals is a free radical and tends to block normal glandular functions. In this case, there is a rise, then a large drop in cortisol that is initiated by the vitamin C, but it gets worse if heavy metals are in the way.

Therefore, try to alkalize first, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda taken twice a day in 1/2 glass of water. Some minerals can be found microminerals, in a good quality sea salts. Then vitamin A, B, D, and E are purchased separately. The dose for sea salt, which is rich in microminerals or trace elements is 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt, with 1/16 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 liter of drinking water. Use that as a drinking water to normalize the micromineral imbalances. Then during that time, get a hair mineral analysis to see what is causing the problems.
