Endometriosis Help

Posted by Anonymous (Anonymous) on 08/15/2011

Dear Ted,

I am a sufferer of Endometriosis since 2002. Since then, I've had a laparoscopy for biopsy, Zoladex for 6 months, 2 pregnancies, tried TCM, Coffee enema detox, castor oil hot pack, Eissac Tea etc etc. I'm a vegetarian since 2007, exercise almost everyday, meditate (15 minutes perday) and avoid junk food. They all helped to a certain extend but the problem comes back again after 1-2 years. I was also diagnosed with adenomyosis in 2007. In April, a 2 cm cyst is found in my right ovary again - I really want to know what I've not been doing correctly ie. diet, lifestyle or remedies??? The doctor only told me that when I suffer till I could not stand it anymore, have a hysterectomy.

My menses has a lot of blood clots, painful (but can still go about with chores), very heavy on 2nd day, and staining days before and after menses (sometimes up to 2 weeks). The cycle is about 28 days, some times less. I constantly have abdominal pain, lots of wind and flatulence (during non-menstruation days), very low in energy, sometimes insomnia, sciatica pain, low back pain. Hope you can help me.

I started taking lime juice + baking soda (1 lime + 1/4 tsp bs in a glass of water) 2 times per day since last week. I took it for 5 days and rest 2 days. I'll try to find Lysine, green tree extract, EDTA (?what strength). For, Lysine - taken 4 times a day means spaced out to every 6 hours? I have Niacin B3 in 50mg - do I take 10x? Wouldn't that cause a lot of flushing??? And for SSG - how does that help? Is Endometriosis related to viral? How to take for Endometriosis case?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

If you have Adenomyosis (from endometrosis) the answer would be very different, then the problem appears to be hormonal imbalance. Have you tried melatonin and natural progesterone creams? The dioxins and bisphenol A is known to cause this condition too, from canned foods or exposure to burning plastics or you take certain vegetables that block it, such as cabbages family, cassava, or synthetic hormones? Since adenomyosin occurs around 35 to 45 years when progesterone decrease, only natural progesterone and perhaps melatonin is known to help.

Brocolli has been known to block estrogen dominance also.

Anonymous replies: "Dear Ted,

How do I use the natural progesterone cream? or melatonin (not sure which is available).
Does that mean I should take more vegetables of the lettuce family? I try my best avoid plastics as much as I can and am also taking tumeric powder 1/2 tsp + cayene pepper/day. Is EPO suitable for me?"

Ted responds to Anonymous: "It helps to use natural progesterone cream. Melatonin may further help. The lettuce is, contains indole 3 carbinol, especially broccoli helps, but in general vegetable consumptions helps. The food that is to be avoided especially are meats in general. The worse is processed meats. Trans fatty acid are the worse and found in many vegetable oils also is bad. Aromatase inhibitors found in button mushrooms also helps. Vitamin E not only reduces blood clots but is useful for endometriosis, but also of biotin, green tea, and other antioxidants.
I think EPO (Erythropoetin) may not be helpful endometriosis, I could be wrong. But there is support for this as research is shown below.

Expression of erythropoietin in endometriosis tissues.Cai Guoqing,Chen Biliang,Fan Yang,et al.Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,Xijing Hospital,Fourth Military Medical University,Xi'an 710033
Objective:To investigate the expression of erythropoietin(Epo)in endometriosis and its correlation with clinical biological behaviors. Methods:Endometrium specimens were obtained from ectopic endometrium in 38 cases with endometriosis and 35 normal uterus for control.Expressions of Epo and its mRNA in these paraffin embraced specimens were examined by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization technique with specific cDNA probes. Results:Both expressions of Epo and Epo mRNA in glandular cells in endometrium of endometriosis were stronger than those in normal endometrium.Interstitial cell showed an insignificant expression.Expressions of Epo and Epo mRNA in endometriosis were 9.68±2.90 and 3.08±0.48,respectively,significantly higher than those with normal endometriosis(P0.001). Expression of Epo mRNA was closely correlate with American Fertility Society endometriosis%u2032 staging(r=0.979,P=0.013).Conclusion:The increased expressions of Epo and Epo mRNA in endometriosis may play important roles in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.

Anonymous replies: "Thank you very much on the info. I am also taking Chinese Yam as a supplement for strenghtening my stomach and spleen. I read that it contains DHEA which helps to balance hormones and it is also present in Mexican Wild Yams - which is used to produce the natural progesterone creams. I wonder if they're the same?"

Ted responds to Anonymous: "The Mexican yams are not exactly the same as natural progesterone. It is not biochemically identical. What the manufacturers do is obtain the yam (diogenin) and converted chemically to be Natural progesterone. DHEA is best obtain in the form of DHEA, and not indirectly. But we can consider that Mexican yam contains precursor of DHEA, progesterone, and others hormones derived from this.
