Black and Purple Tongue

Posted by Ruth (Hawaii) on 09/29/2007

Ted, Thank u firstly for all of your valuable input and help for the many who suffer ill health. I have been using the inhalation method of 3% H202 since July 15th, 2007. I have been suffering with Candida and stomach bloating for 7 years along with lung problems. since inhaling the H202 my tongue started turning purple with black and brown spots in different areas. I went to the Md's and he said it was fungus and gave me liquid Nystatin to use orally. He also gave me Difulcan to take internally for 30 days. My question is, is the H202 taking the fungus out thru my mouth and should I let it occur naturally? How dangerous is the fungal occurring on my tongue? I don't want to stop inhaling the H202 as it helps my breathing so much. What should I do? Kindly advise asap. Many many thanks, Ruth

Dear Ruth: The black and purple tongue can have several causes, I will mention only two here, one is from taking certain medications high in bismuth (as in bismuth subsalicylate from Pepto Bismol). Another one is from taking long term antibiotic, which I have seen so many times to cause black, purple and green tongue from too much antibiotic uses. Too much antibiotic use, I have seen to cause fungus growth. It should be noted that fungus growth is enhanced whenever antibiotics use, because antibiotics are made from fungus, and because they cause the body to accumulate more heavy metals and bring on acidosis. Hence, hydrogen peroxide may be helpful in the short run of the breathing and kill off the fungus, where the cause is of difficult of breathing is seen to be fungus, but does not directly address the issue of altering dietary supplements to discourage fungus growth. Hence, removal of specific nutrients favorable of fungus growth by removal of heavy metals, such as chlorella, taking certain minerals not conducive to fungus growth such as borax remedy, where 1/4 teaspoon (in woman's dose) 1/8 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of drinking water will usually discourage fungus growth usually quite effectively. However, the basics of discouraging fungus growth will always be at least 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day for about 5 days out of a week. Some improvement should be noted on the second week as the body becomes more properly alkalized. I would like to check for some mineral status, to see if the copper portion, from hair mineral analysis is low or not, as copper discourages fungus growth. Magnesium supplements, such as 250 mg of magnesium citrate may help the breathing by reduction of calcification of the tissue too, along with alkalizing remedies such as baking soda mentioned, but if the 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day may help. Fungus tend to grow better in environments high in sugar, no fishes are eaten, oily foods, rarely drinks cocoa for example. The purple tongue might also be circulation problems, which were caused by difficulty of breathing in the first place. Hence, slow deep breathing exercises, baking soda and citric acid, may help with the circulation and reduce the purple tongue, but NOT black tongue. Although I suspect it might contribute to the conditions too. Vitamin E 400 i.u. and some aspirin should also help with circulation problems thus reducing the darkness of the tongue.

Dear Ted, thank u so much for your prompt and informative reply. I do have very high levels of copper and mercury in my body as I've been tested twice in the past. I am presently taking liquid Zeolite to detox the heavy metals. I buy them from Waiora company and they are highly effective. Many people with stage 4 cancer are staying alive and recovering due to this product. How do I buy borax? Is is a soap powder or a drug store item? Thank u again for all of your inspiration and suggestions!

Dear Ruth: Thank you for the feedback concerning the cause of black tongue. As an interesting side note, adding a small amount of bentonite clay, which are positive charge, to a drinking water can also remove the heavy metals too. One have reported getting cured from cancer after drinking clay, apparently it is removing some toxins as the negative charge of the bentonite clays are removing positively charge toxins out of the body. A small pinch or two would be sufficient I believe. Borax is often available in U.S. as a 20 mule team borax, or a chemical suppliers that sell them under the name sodium borate, or sodium tetraborate. I once bought one from a school supply store in the science section.

Dear Ted, Thank you again for your time and effort and great suggestions. I read on line where borax is the same as boric acid. Is this true? I am having stomach problems due to a hiatal hernia with terrible heartburn and am afraid to take borax if it's an acid. How important is it?

Boric acid is acid, borax is not boric acid. The borax is sodium borate, which is an alkaline form of boron and is a lot safer. I never use boric acid because it is acid and the boron content is too high.

as of last night, brown spots showed up on my tongue; for a week prior, my tongue felt coated; I have type2 diabetes which is under control; never take pepto anything; is this something for a dentist visit or an internal medicine visit? is it chronic or will it go away?
