Ted's Dog Mange Cure

Posted by Laura (Hartford, WI) on 12/01/2006

I tried Ted's remedy with a little twist. My Dogue De Bordeaux had been battling mange for several months. The Vet had me giving her baths with peroxide shampoo and boosting her vitamins and fish oils. We were just about to give in to the dip when I found your web site. I live in a colder climate so I did not want to leave her sit wet, I shampooed her with the peroxide shampoo and poured the borax and apple cider vinegar on her and left it sit for 10 minutes. And rinsed thoroughly, every three days for two weeks.

At the end of the two weeks I had her scrapped she was negative. A week later I had her checked again, still negative. It has been about 6 weeks and she is just beautiful. Her hair is almost all back. I took her to the vet and she thought I got a new dog. We are having some other problems, she keeps getting pyoderma. The vet puts her on antibiotics and it clears when she is done the pyoderma comes back. Any suggestions? Thank you so much for the mange cure. I was so afraid of the dip.

Laura: The dog may have a vitamin/mineral deficiency. Often it is the zinc. Just give the zinc to the dog for only 2-3 days at 25 per day and was the dog. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the dogs drinking water per liter of water. It will take a while, but about 1 week the dog SHOULD improve, if not, it is another condition. In that case, I would add 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to one liter of water instead. Usually adding sea salt will kill the bacteria, albeit, slowly and about a week also. I prefer to do it a bit slowly.
