Vitiligo that I have found here and have seem success is the use of hydrogen peroxide and borax remedy applied to the area affected. I may either use a 3% Hydrogen peroxide or a 1% Hydrogen peroxide solution, but 1.5% is what I preferred. In a 500 cc bottle of hydrogen peroxide, I will add about 1 tablespoon of borax and dissolved it. Most will not be dissolved and may form precipitate, on the bottom of the bottle, but that's not important. I used this and apply to the skin something like 10 times a day and do this over the course of about a month. The cause of the vitiligo I have found in this case were the fungus, which lead to autoimmunity. Hence, I might take maybe twice a week, borax 1/4 teaspoon in one liter of drinking water, over the course of a day, as well as 2 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in at least 1/2 glass of water twice a day. The alkalization and reduction in serum calcium will lead to reduction in fungus, which leads to lower "autoimmunity", resulting in less vitiligo. Of course there may be other causes of vitiligo, but the ones I did encountered and successfully treated was to use the borax/hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/lemon remedy mentioned. Frequency of application is critical. People may have sensitive skin if the concentration goes beyond 1.5%, but in some tough cases and less sensitive skin, I might use up to 3% concentration. But usually I prefer 1.5%, but frequency of application is critical to the success of removing the vitiligo. This is then followed by some sun exposure (after the fungus die off - as they eat up the skin pigment) and should usually go away in about a month or so, assuming of course that the cause is fungus. I don't seem to have noticed any vitiligo cases brought by genetic and other "environmental factors" but fungus is the ones I encountered in all the cases I have seen. If that was not working, I might consider taking some plenty of cod liver oil as it has plenty of vitamin D, which also lowers the autoimmunity problem, that with the vitamin K2.

I was reading some more on the Internet today and some sites indicated that copper and zinc are deficient. I picked up a supplement of Hair Skin and Nails, which contains the correct (or near correct) ratios of Zinc to Copper. Maybe this will help. You have to be very careful with copper as it is toxic in high amounts. That's why I think the Hair Skin and Nails supplement is safer than guessing what the dose should be. Also, I have been trying to eat cottage cheese with pineapple. The pineapple contains catalase and the whey is good for hair problems.

Ted, Thank you for all of your remedies concerning autoimmunity and vitiligo. I have a question now. If I am taking armour thyroid first thing in the morning and last thing at night, when should I do the aluminum free baking soda, lemon juice and water routine? I would appreciate your help here. I don't want to make the thyroid medication inactive. Thanks in advance.

Ted, I have been reading quite a bit on the subject and do not question your knowledgeability. However, if you search on vitiligo and hydrogen peroxide, pseudocatalase is being used to combat the excessive hydrogen peroxide in the skin. I've also been reading about how catalase in pineapple and potatoes converts hydrogen peroxide in the liver to water. Since pineapples contain catalase, wouldn't it make sense to mash some fresh pineapple and papaya with some other ingredients like honey and wheat flour or oatmeal as a skin exfoliating cream? It seems like this would reduce the hydrogen peroxide in the skin. Or is it not that simple? Is a catalyst necessary? This past weekend, my digestive tract was acting like a pinball machine and going crazy and I drank pineapple juice in large quantities and it settled down. I felt immediately better. Just a theory.

I think your theory on Vitamin D and K2 are also correct. Read about Unlocking the Pineal Gland.
