Dear C: My dog once had some sort of nerve damage, and he had trouble of the use of hind legs. I used a couple of remedies that helped, although peanut butter is a bit risky because it may lead to kidney damage for the dog. The remedies I gave my dog were vitamin B50 that was mixed into his food taken only two or three days out of a week, with 1/2 tablespoon of granulated lecithin also mixed into his food. I also gave my dog 200 I.U. of vitamin E, once a week, and also make sure I added 10-20 drops of dechlorinator made of sodium thiosulfate solution (the 10% concentration, but doesn't have to be exact) in one liter of drinking water. The sodium thiosulfate and the vitamin B complex seemed to help most of his nerve problem but it took me more than a month to notice clear improvement. Vitamin C might help too as it is an antioxidant. Some added amino acid supplements may also help too, if added to the food.' If the dogs has some muscle problem perhaps cod liver oil and magnesium are helpful, given twice a week, mixed in his food.
