I found your email address on earth clinic, and I need advice on a fungal/bacterial infection ( i think) that is on my scalp...

I have scalp folliculitus..I use acv and peroxide 1:1:10 in water and have used borax..they do work but dont permanently knock out the problem which is present inbetween mid scalp and base. There is slight hair loss but I find it grows back slightly after borax...Is there a supplement I can take? Should I continue to try and alkalize my body? I have a waterbed, 2 dogs..I also am a African American male with long hair/cornrows (braided hair). Whats your advice?

I would have taken borax 1/8 teaspoon in 1 liter drinking water to help. Alkalizing the body also help, the usual dose 1/4 teaspoon twice a day after meals 30 minutes to 1 hour. Another is a solution of borax is not rinse after it is applied. If I want more penetrant I can add DMSO 5% to the original solution and wash my hair that way.

What foods should be avoided? I'm asking because in America it can be very difficult to avoid processed foods and sugars. Either way Thank you Thank you Thank you"

If anyone asks about this issue in the future they should also be notified about High fructose corn syrup or sugar period. Because I think it feeds the problem. Ted, my bumps have cleared there was only a boil present that I mistook for a pimple. Borax + Alkalization + no Sugar = Success. Now im just worried about this boil. I put a cotton ball full with acv on it overnight and I awoke and it seemed to be flat but the skin was tender moist and kinda sore. It felt like there was fluid under the skin. Ive been drinking turmeric powder in water and compressing the area with acv. this morning the area was not as sore and it seemed to have dried out. I hope im on the right path."

I think its a combination of Mrsa and Demodex... The remedies don't seem to be penetrating. Its like a defense was built up iodine doesn't even sting when applied, everything feels neutral now. I purchased some DMSO, can this be ingested or should it be used topically with borax shampoo? Im also talking colloidal silver because of how well it works as an antibody."

07/30/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "For MRSA you use magnesium hydroxide, that's my remedy, but if it is flesh eating for looking at necrosis, that's an entire different remedy. If demodex that goes deep in skin, you use 70% DMSO mixture with some borax (small amounts), for example, in 100 cc 70% DMSO (the other is water 30%), borax is 1/16 should be fine. However, i much prefer my long standing Hydrogen peroxide 1 to 1.5% mixed with borax, this one does go through skin and I think is effective.

RE: High fruit diets being a problem, I would study more about the differences between the fructose in fruit (which is accompanied by fiber) versus high fructose corn syrup which for the most part only comes added to junk food. Avoiding the latter yes... but avoiding fruit because it contains fructose is silly. Eat fruit in it's natural form with the fiber, and do not drink from a bottle. It's the healthy thing to do and I really recommend you see Chris Kressner's view on fructose in fruit before you rubbish it.
