I wrote you thinking that because my doctor hadn't called, everything was ok. I went to see her today, and I have Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, TSC. I am very concerned about how to treat it naturally. I developed a couple of red spots on my forehead and orange peel patches on my legs... Also, I had several weeks of convulsions/fainting when I was 18, which I had some sort of test with wires and it showed nothing. From what I read about TSC the life expectancy is late 40's. I am 48. My abdomen hurts... my cervix was poking out last week... I do not feel good at all. My doctor said today that there is no point seeing the internist, but she has decided to arrange genetic testing. I told her about my prolapsed uterus but she said "Well, a tie up job doesn't last very long anyway." I feel like I've been given a death sentence, but I haven't fought this long to give up.

As to the condition of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (Bourneville's disease), it is all to easy to blame the genes. However, when cells get damage or tumor, certain supplements, of antioxidants and immunity can taken to protect against further damage. Assuming the best case scenario that it's a virus, or a fungus, that the body is actually weak against such defenses causing the red spots might be related to opportunistic problem leading to tumors, for example. Since protein synthesis are a problem here, tannin rich foods can at least reduced such problem from excess due to TSC1 and TSC2, relating to hamartin and tuberin. Tannins simply can inactivate them or at least slow down some protein synthesis leading to tumor growth and development. One example of tannin rich foods are pomegranate fruits (eat with the seeds) and green tea without the sugar and milk. In fact the genes related to such condition have certain relationship to polyscystic kidney disease (PKD) and TSC are close to each other where the PKD, in which the body have difficulties in ridding the cells of excess calcium. Calcium is unusual in itself where bacteria and especially fungus seems to enjoy growing. If the urine pH is acid, this may cause a development of tumor to be faster, to slow down, in my opinion is to keep the urinary pH within 7, or about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid in 1/2 glass of water twice a day, more or less depends on the urinary pH. A lemon and baking soda is possible with 2 tablespoon of lemon plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. The reduction of excess calcium can also buy the time. As to the red spots or orange spots mentioned, depending on how the body responds to natural remedy can give good clues as to what supplements to take, depending on the application on the skin. Certain things I might try are colorless iodine, so see if red or orange spots are reduced, or magnesium hydroxide, or pure distilled vinegar, can give us clues. The effect of orange spots should at the very least be responsive and this gives the clue as to what need to be taken internally. Other things to try on topical application includes epsom salt, colorless iodine, vinegar, borax and 1% hydrogen peroxide solution. If the skin condition improves, than it is likely that a lower dose can be taken internally to further help the condition, with modifications of course. For example if the orange skin improves with a 1% hydrogen peroxide within an hour or so upon frequent 30 minute interval application as a test, it means that 6 drops of H2O2 3% added in one glass of water plus 1/4 teaspoon baking soda gives one possible way to at least lower the symptoms connected to TSC. A tumor developed can cause myelin sheaths damage, and certain protection can be considered too. Certain antioxidant, but a powerful one can also buy time. One example of such protection that relates to myelin sheaths of the brain to further protect I would probably try 1 tablespoon of granulated lecithin two or three times a day. Increasing the immunity, which seems to be apparent, because of the red spots might also be due to lowered immunity connected to the condition, as mentioned, some that can be tried included, the iodine drops 2-5 drops in 1/2 glass of water used as a mouthwash. The drinking of green tea (no sugar and milk), or the pomegranate are also linked to better immunity in which the tannins reduces the such opportunistic infection. Aloe vera oil mixed 50/50 with lavender oil can also be applied topically. Should aloe vera oil works well, the aloe vera oil alone can be taken internally or allantoin supplements. In connection with such immunity, and tumor's certain links to fungus and fungi, I might also experiment with 1/8 teaspoon of borax mixed in one liter of drinking water. To reduce the chances of seizures, reducing heavy metals can bid time, and chlorella supplements should be helpful there, but that's taken only once every two days to avoid possible detox or Herx effect, giving a chance for the body to rest and remove slowly itself too. Whichever methods are used, I always keep on the top of my priority the use of alkalization formula, such as the lemon and baking soda remedy, or perhaps the apple cider vinegar and baking soda remedy (2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda).

I hope this helps, those are some of the clues that hence some of the things I will use to at least reduce opportunistic infection (iodine, magnesium, zinc, alkalization), relating to the condition, slowing down of protein synthesis (tannins) or protecting against brain damages (chelation chlorella and lecithin). While currently there is no cure for TSC, there are supplements that can be done and buy time or at least reduce the severity of symptoms.
